Composition

The Board of Advisors consists of subject matter experts and prominent industry leaders who have been recognised for their contribution towards the development of the MSME sector. This Board would constitute five to seven members each of whom would be chosen by the Promoters from a uniquely independent sphere of excellence. The members of the Advisory Board would be proposed by any member of the Board and seconded by another and approved for appointment for a period of two (2) years by the Board in a regular meeting of the Board of Directors.

Charter of Responsibilities

  • The Board of Advisors would present their views and guide the team at CRDI for developing policies that are relevant for the effective implementation of the objectives drawn up for the benefit of the members of CRDI and to generate relevant white papers and policy documents that have to be presented to the Government.
  • The Board of Advisors would identify, recommend and approve functional collaborations with various organisations from around the world to enable CRDI to present themselves as a strategic bridge between the members of CRDI, Public Sector Undertakings, Government Organisations and other recognised establishments which are critical for the development of opportunities for the MSME sector.
  • The Board of Advisors would connect CRDI to various sources of technology identified by them as being relevant for future and emerging opportunities to facilitate upgradation of capabilities through various technical seminars and for migration of knowledge through expert advisory services towards global competence in product development and manufacturing for the members of CRDI.

Dr. BHASKAR CHATTERJEE


Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, a former IAS officer, joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1975 and has held many distinguished positions including Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises; Principal Adviser, Planning Commission; Additional Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development; Principal Secretary - Department of Steel and Mines, Govt. of Odisha as well as Chairman of OMC. DG & CEO of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. He was associated closely with all aspects of Industrial Development such as the allocation of power, land and other infrastructure. As a CEO Of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, he spearheaded the National Foundation for Corporate Governance. He played a significant role in the drafting of the Companies Act 2013. As the Father of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India, he was instrumental in framing and issuing the CSR guidelines for Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) in April, 2010. Thereafter, he played a major role in the inclusion of Section 135 in the Companies Act of 2013 and in the framing of the rules thereafter. As Principal Adviser, Planning Commission, he was deeply involved not only with a number of micro and macro-economic measures but was also a part of the team responsible for shaping India’s response to the global economic crisis.

REAR ADMIRAL SRINIVAS KANUGO,

AVSM, VSM (RETD)


Rear Admiral SrinivasKanugo, AVSM. VSM (Retd) joined Electrical branch of the Indian Navy in 1981. He was specialised in Naval Aviation. After retirement, serving as the first Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (ACNS) (Air Materiel) at the apex level. As ACNS (Air Materiel), he held single point responsibility of Indian Naval Aviation Maintenance, Midlife upgrades, Aircraft and equipment modifications, creation of Maintenance infrastructure, Capability enhancements, concluding follow on support contracts with multiple OEMs. During his 36 years of service in Indian Navy such as Director, Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology, Kochi; Chief Controller, Naval Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service; Commodore Superintendent, Naval Aircraft Yard (Kochi), Chief Staff Officer (Technical), Headquarters Naval Aviation and Principal Director, Directorate of Naval Air Materiel at IHQ MoD (Navy). Rear Admiral Srinivas Kanugo was awarded VishistaSeva Medal (VSM) and AtiVishistaSeva Medal (AVSM) for his outstanding contribution and distinguished service in 2013 and 2017 respectively by the Honourable President of India.

Dr. K. RAMALINGAM, I.E.S


Dr. K. Ramalingam, Former Chairman of AAI, Ministry of Civil Aviation has vast experience in Planning, Research and Development. During his 36+ years of service he served in the Civil Aviation Department (DGCA), National Airports Authority (NAA) and Airports Authority of India (AAI), Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL), Kerala State Government at National Level and was associated with various Global bodies on the International front. After retirement, he held Chairman of Maytas Infra Ltd. (2009) and Independent Director in the Board of Power Grid Corporation India Ltd. (2016). He initiated the Development of GAGAN Project in India as joint venture between ISRO and AI for providing satellite navigation services in the country. With the implementation of the system, our country has become 4th service provider in the world next to USA, Europe and Japan. He has also been delivering lectures in various seminars on topics related to Indian Air Navigation services and Airport Infrastructure organised by reputed universities and Institution of Engineers of India. International Experiences such as Board member of Airports Council International (ACI), Member of the Executive Committee of Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO). and he also served as Technical Advisor for the planning and implementation of airport projects nominated by the Airport Authority of India. Honoured Doctorate by the Anna University, Chennai in recognition of service in the field of Civil Aviation and awarded “Best Alumni Award -2007” by the IIT, Chennai.

Dr. JOHN JOSEPH


Dr. John Joseph, a 1983 batch officer of Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes). Over 36 years of experience in public service, he has held the post of Principal Commissioner for various departments such as (Central Excise, Mangalore; Exports; Customs ICD; Central Excise & Service Tax LTU; Central Excise, Delhi), Additional Charge as Chairman from (01.01.2020 to 02.02.2020), has been appointed as the Chairman of Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), Director General for Directorate of Revenue Intelligence Delhi; Chief Commissioner for NhavaSheva Customs Maharashtra; Member (Tax Policy), CBIC; Currently as Director General Directorate General of GST Intelligence Delhi. As Chief Commissioner, Nava ShevaCustoms,introduced direct port delivery in imports and direct pass exports. As Pr DG, GST Intelligence created MIU (Machine Intelligence Unit) to use artificial intelligence for GST compliance work. He had pioneered the Saksham project for e-way bill linkage to fastag to improve compliance in GST. Besides enhancing the administrative set-up, he had introduced new reforms that helped improve the national rankings in the ease of doing business index. Dr John Joseph was the recipient of the Presidential Award for Meritorious Service for exemplary service done to the nation in the Customs and Central Excise Service, 1999 and also Recipient of Best Scientific Paper Award published in Indian Journal of Veterinary Surgery, 1993.
